Mission
The Atikokan Native Friendship Centre provides a gathering place and supports to improve the quality of life for the urban Aboriginal community of Atikokan and area.
Vision
Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of all ages flow in and out of open doors at the Atikokan Native Friendship Centre to participate in a wide range of holistic programs and activities. In a well-resourced, comfortable, warm, and welcoming environment, the Centre nurtures spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical growth, a sense of belonging and connection, of family and community, where people share their hopes and dreams, helping each other to live a good life in keeping with the history and traditions of the Anishinaabe and Metis people.
Values
The Friendship Centre upholds the seven grandfather teachings –Wisdom, Love, Respect, Honesty, Bravery, Truth and Humility –and the importance of keeping those teachings alive and meaningful through our day-to-day actions at home, at work and in the community.
